Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, including account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor and research account discrepancies and resolve issues as needed.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as necessary.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide requested documentation.
- Work closely with management to improve accounting processes and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2-4 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
- Understanding of month-end close procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Technical Requirements
- QuickBooks Desktop required.
- Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Job costing exposure.
- Financial statement preparation experience.
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized business environment.
